Here is alittle more about Kozik:
“Frank Kozik was born near Madrid, Spain in 1962 and immigrated to United States, settling in Austin, Texas in the 70’s. Credited with single-handedly reviving the “lost” art of the concert poster, Kozik’s art career emerged from his connection to Austin’s cultural explosion in the mid 80’s. Starting with band flyers that he posted on telephone poles, Kozik quickly garnered a solid fan-base who dug his graphically compelling and culturally relevant work.
To date, Kozik has designed over 1000 concert posters and album covers for artists as diverse as The Sex Pistols and Nirvana; founded Man’s Ruin Records; directed music videos for Soundgarden; staged over 60 gallery shows worldwide; created artwork for some of world’s biggest companies; and published several volumes of his work.
Since 2000, Kozik’s main artistic focus has been in the design and production of vinyl art toys. The icon of Kozik’s toy empire is his Smorkin’ Labbit character, but he is also the guy behind Chumps, Mongers and pretty much everything else that smorks.”
Tree Hugger
Kidrobot latest collabo of their famous Dunny silhouette is with the brazilian artist Kronk. Kronk created the “Tree Hugger” which is a big hit with fans of all kinds and we are proud to be one of the selected stores in the world to get the AWOL Edition of his creation. ONLY 500 WERE MADE WORLDWIDE! We only got 6…do the math!
Here is a little more about Kronk from his bio from Kidrobot:
“Kronk is a human being and designer/illustrator who is based in (C)ape Town, South Africa and likes to make dumb and pretty art. He is currently employed at Amicollective where he basically gets paid to doodle cool stuff for clients ranging from soft drink giants, major cell phone companies, cable TV networks and his dad. He drinks quite a lot of coffee and loves biltong, which is a South African delicatessen for those of you who don’t know. Every now and then he accidentally stumbles upon ideas that are conceptually relevant to the microcosms of people that exist in the current social environment. Did we mention that he also has a thing for drawing clouds and elusive creatures like Yetis? Kronk rarely sleeps, but when he does, he dreams about stuff that he wants to make. One could say he is in a perpetual cycle of creativity; it’s vicious, but he likes it.”
